The KTM Motor Slip Regulation, technically known as MSR, is an electronic function from the PowerParts range designed for riders who want to keep the rear wheel stable in situations of strong engine braking, such as an abrupt downshift or closing the throttle suddenly mid-braking.
This function works in reverse to the motorcycle's MTC traction control: if engine drag torque becomes excessive, the ride-by-wire system opens the throttle valve just enough to prevent the rear wheel from losing traction and skidding. Since it is linked to the MSC system, it also remains active while the bike is leaned over in a corner, not only in a straight line. The product is HOMNN_EU certified.
The photograph shows the TFT display of the KTM instrument cluster, with the electronic settings menu where this function is managed, set against the brand's characteristic orange and black graphic background.
In everyday riding, MSR adds extra safety when downshifting quickly or closing the throttle abruptly, preventing the rear wheel from locking up or skidding and helping keep the bike stable both in a straight line and through corners.
