The fuel cap is the part that closes the filler neck of the fuel tank, within the tank spare parts category of PowerParts. It needs replacing when the closing system wears out, loses its seal, or the original cap has been lost or damaged.
It is built from a material resistant to continuous contact with fuel and to outdoor exposure, with a closing system that fits into the tank's filler neck and sits flush with the bodywork, keeping out water and dirt and containing fuel vapours inside.
