This 1.5 mm intermediate clutch plate is one of the smooth metal plates that make up the clutch pack, within the PowerParts transmission spares range. It is aimed at anyone renewing the complete set of clutch plates or replacing only the worn metal units.
This is a 1.5 mm thick metal plate, with no friction material bonded to it, which sits between the friction plates within the clutch assembly. Its smooth surface and flatness are key for the clutch pack to modulate pressure evenly.
The photo shows a circular plate with a silver metallic finish, with a toothed or tabbed contour on its inner or outer perimeter that engages with the clutch basket or hub, and a flat surface with no visible friction grooves.
By alternating with the friction plates, this intermediate plate allows the clutch assembly to transmit or interrupt torque progressively, and its correct thickness and flatness help maintain a consistent clutch feel.
