This M6x50 magnetic drain bolt is the replacement part designed for the oil sump drain plug, used on both the engine and the gearbox, within the PowerParts range of maintenance hardware and spares. It is the usual solution for anyone doing an oil change at home or in the workshop who wants to replace the original plug with one in good condition.
It is made of steel with a hexagonal head and M6 thread, in a 50 mm length. It features a magnet housed in the end that remains in direct contact with the oil in the sump, designed to attract and retain the metal particles released through normal wear of the internal components.
The photo shows a metal bolt with a silver finish, with a hexagonal head for a wrench and a continuous threaded shaft; at the tip, the integrated magnet can be seen, slightly darker in tone than the rest of the body.
Thanks to the magnet, this drain bolt helps keep the oil cleaner of metal debris between changes, which also makes it easier to visually detect abnormal wear when it is removed during routine maintenance.
