This cylinder head is one of the central engine components, the part that closes off the top of the cylinder and houses the valve train elements. It is a reference aimed at those tackling an engine repair or a thorough tune-up who need to replace this part due to wear, damage or cracking.
It is made from machined aluminum alloy, the usual material for this type of part thanks to its light weight and its ability to dissipate the heat generated by combustion. Its construction includes the valve seats and cooling passages typical of a motorcycle engine cylinder head, with the mating surfaces precision-machined to ensure a correct seal against the cylinder and the cylinder head cover.
The photo shows the characteristic raw aluminum finish, with the cooling fins standing out on the outside and the machined surfaces in a lighter tone at the contact areas. The valve seats and the fastener mounting points are also visible.
As an original KTM spare part, it guarantees an exact fit to factory tolerances, a critical aspect for a component that withstands pressure, temperature and the sealing of the combustion cycle.
