This sealing ring is part of KTM's exhaust spares range and takes care of one very specific maintenance task: sealing the joints between exhaust pipe sections to prevent gas leaks at the connections. It is designed for anyone removing the header or silencer during a service and needing to replace the original gasket with a precise-fit part.
It is a ring with a narrow cross-section and compact profile, built to withstand high temperatures and the pressure of exhaust gases at the pipe joint. Its circular shape allows it to seat in the recess of the flange or at the end of the pipe, so that once the joint is tightened it is compressed and seals off the gas flow without the need for additional sealing paste.
In the photo, the ring appears dark in colour with a matte finish and a compact surface, with uniform thickness around its entire circumference and clean edges free of burrs, making it easy to position by hand before tightening the clamp or the joint bolts.
Once fitted in place, this sealing ring keeps exhaust gases from escaping through the joint, maintains the system's working pressure, and helps the exhaust keep its original sound and performance.
