This engine and linkage protection is part of the PowerParts range for KTM and is designed for those looking to reinforce the lower engine area and the rear suspension linkage against demanding offroad use, where impacts from stones, roots and falls are common.
It is made from black plastic, with a design fitted to the geometry of the engine case and linkage system for a precise fit. The manufacturer states that it is an extremely lightweight and resistant part, with quality finishes and tested under the toughest offroad riding conditions, as well as offering easy installation.
The photograph shows a matte black plastic protector, with a wraparound shape that covers the lower part of the engine and extends towards the rear linkage area, with reinforcing ribs visible on its surface and the corresponding mounts for fitting to the chassis.
Its function is to prevent impacts from stones or a fall from damaging the engine case or the linkage system, two particularly exposed points in offroad use whose repair can be costly if left unprotected.
