This skid plate belongs to the PowerParts range from KTM and is aimed at those who put their bike through demanding offroad use, where the engine case is exposed to impacts from stones, roots and possible falls.
Made from black plastic, with a design fitted precisely to the geometry of the engine, it combines extremely low weight with high resistance to impacts. The manufacturer states that it has been thoroughly tested under the toughest offroad riding conditions and features top-quality finishes, as well as easy installation.
The photograph shows a matte black plastic part, with a wraparound shape adapted to the lower part of the engine, reinforcing ribs on its surface and the necessary mounting points for fitting to the chassis.
In use, this protection prevents impacts from stones or a fall from damaging the engine case, an area that is particularly exposed in offroad riding and costly to repair if left unprotected.
