The KTM Skid Plate featured here is a PowerParts component designed for those looking to protect their motorcycle's engine and chassis from the impacts typical of the most demanding offroad use, such as stones, logs or falls on uneven terrain.
Built from high-strength aluminium with a material thickness of 4 mm, it features side pieces welded both inside and out that reinforce the structure against impacts. The mounting system is reinforced to ensure a firm hold on the chassis, from which it is separated by rubber mounts that dampen vibrations and prevent direct metal-to-metal contact.
The image shows an aluminium shell with a wraparound design fitted to the lower part of the engine, with a consistent finish and clean weld seams at the side joints, with no visible burrs.
Thanks to this design, precisely fitted to the chassis, the skid plate offers effective engine protection for everyday use, with simple fitting and no need to modify other components on the motorcycle.
