The KTM Adaptive Brake Light is an active safety software function that improves the motorcycle's visibility to traffic behind during hard braking situations. It is part of the electronic upgrades within the PowerParts range.
The high-end electronic system analyzes the vehicle's speed and deceleration values to detect when emergency braking occurs. At that moment, the brake light stops staying fixed and starts flashing in pulses until the brake is released again. This flashing is perceived faster than a steady brake light, which reduces the reaction time of the vehicle behind and minimizes the risk of a rear-end collision. The function is requested with an authorization code through the XC2 tool and carries HOMNN_EU approval.
The photo corresponds to the product's identification card, with the KTM logo in orange and black on a white background, in the format typical of PowerParts software activations.
On the road, this function provides a more visible warning signal during any emergency braking, giving extra reaction time to traffic following behind.
