The cylinder base gasket is a component from the PowerParts spares catalogue that is fitted between the crankcase and the engine cylinder, intended for anyone carrying out an engine strip-down on their KTM.
This gasket has a thickness of 0.50 mm, a size also offered in other thicknesses within the same range to allow different adjustments when fitting the cylinder onto the crankcase. It is identified with reference 50430035050.
The photograph shows a flat, circular gasket with the perforations corresponding to the internal passages and fixing points, made of a thin material with a smooth, even surface.
When fitted between the crankcase and the cylinder, it determines the exact distance between the two elements, a factor that affects the engine's internal timing.
