This gasket seals the joint between the alternator cover and the engine crankcase, a wear part that should be renewed every time that cover is removed to work on the electrical generation system. It is designed for those carrying out engine maintenance who need to guarantee a tight seal when reassembling the components.
It is a flat gasket made from a thin, flexible composite material that conforms to the exact contour of the cover and the crankcase to prevent oil leaks in that area. It includes the corresponding cutouts for the cover's mounting points, so it fits without any trimming or adjustment.
