This exhaust header, developed by FMF for KTM, replaces the stock system on four-stroke competition engines. Its routing has been calculated to match the engine geometry as closely as possible, aiming for a more linear and usable power delivery across the whole rev range, from idle to peak revs.
It is made from stainless steel, a material that combines corrosion resistance with good tolerance to the high operating temperatures typical of a competition exhaust. It features an internal resonance chamber, responsible for optimising torque distribution while also reducing noise levels compared to a pipe without this chamber. The overall finish of welds and bends reflects a part designed for the demands of track use.
The photo shows the header in a silver metallic finish, with the characteristic surface of polished stainless steel, the pronounced bends wrapping around the engine block, and the resonance chamber integrated into the pipe routing itself, with no added elements breaking up the line.
This header has been used by Factory Racing teams, backing up its performance in competition conditions, and delivers a noticeable power increase across the whole rev range compared with the stock component.
