This exhaust header, developed by FMF for KTM, replaces the stock pipe on four-stroke competition engines. Its line has been specifically tailored to the engine geometry to achieve a more usable power delivery across the whole rev range.
It is made entirely from high-quality titanium, a material that brings a notable weight saving over steel while maintaining resistance to high operating temperatures. It features a resonance chamber that optimises torque distribution while also reducing noise levels compared with a header without this chamber. The overall finish of welds and bends reflects a part designed for competition use.
The photo shows the characteristic dull metallic tone of titanium, with the iridescent sheen typical of this material after the welding process, and the pronounced bends of the pipe shaped to the engine block, with the resonance chamber integrated into the pipe routing itself.
This header has been used by Factory Racing teams, and delivers a noticeable power increase across the whole rev range compared with the stock component.
