This KTM M8x30 magnetic drain bolt is the threaded plug that seals the drain hole of the crankcase or oil reservoir, used every time the engine or transmission lubricant is changed. It is a commonly used part in routine maintenance for anyone carrying out this job at home or in the workshop.
It features an M8 metric thread and a 30 millimetre shank length, with a magnet built into its inner end whose function is to retain metal particles suspended in the oil, preventing them from circulating again through the lubrication circuit after refilling. The head is designed for a tightening tool, making it easy to remove and fit at each oil change.
