This chain slider with a sliding surface, from the KTM PowerParts range, is fitted to the swingarm to guide the path of the drive chain and protect it from direct contact with the chassis.
The part features a sliding surface on which the chain rests, so that friction occurs against this specific area rather than against the rest of the slider body while the drivetrain is in use.
The photograph shows an elongated, curved piece in black, with a central channel through which the chain runs and a smooth contact area distinguished by its texture from the rest of the body.
Its function is to keep the chain aligned along its path and reduce wear on both the chain and the swingarm itself, while also allowing the slider to be replaced on its own once the sliding surface reaches the end of its service life.
