The 16x2 mm Viton O-ring is a sealing component within KTM's PowerParts spares range, used at points in the engine or hydraulic circuit where sealing against oil, fuel or high temperatures is required. It is a commonly replaced part in any service that involves removing covers, pumps or fittings.
It is made from Viton, a fluorocarbon elastomer with good thermal and chemical resistance, with a 75 shore hardness that provides firmness without losing the elasticity needed to adapt to the housing and maintain the seal under pressure. Its 16x2 mm dimensions correspond to the inner diameter and the cross-section thickness of the rubber cord.
The photo shows a black O-ring with a uniform circular cross-section and a smooth surface, free of marks or inscriptions, characteristic of this type of seal.
Once fitted in its housing, it prevents fluid leaks and the entry of dirt, helping to keep the assembly it is installed in properly sealed.
