The KTM heat protection is a part from the PowerParts range designed to shield specific areas of the bike from the heat given off by the exhaust system, protecting both nearby components and the rider from contact with hot surfaces.
It comes as a sheet or shell made from heat-resistant material, cut to a shape that fits the section of exhaust or chassis it needs to cover. It fastens at the mounting points next to the header or silencer, staying securely in place without interfering with other components.
The image shows a dark-coloured part with a textured surface and a curved profile that follows the contour of the pipe it fits onto, with the corresponding mounting holes visible at its ends.
Fitting this heat protection helps reduce heat transfer to the fairing, riding gear or the rider's leg in areas close to the exhaust, which is especially noticeable on long rides or in city traffic with the bike idling.
