This O-ring is a small sealing component used at various points on the engine and the fluid circuits of the motorcycle, wherever a joint between two parts needs to be sealed or a bolt, fitting or plug needs to avoid leaks. It is part of the KTM PowerParts catalogue of genuine spares.
Its designation reflects its size: a 6 millimetre inner diameter and a 1.5 millimetre cross-section, made from NBR70, a nitrile rubber with a 70 Shore hardness. This type of material is used in mechanical O-rings for its good resistance to hydrocarbons, oils and fuels, and for maintaining its properties under continuous compression.

As a sealing ring, its function is to prevent leaks at the point where it is fitted, so it should be replaced every time the part it belongs to is removed, since the rubber loses elasticity with use and heat.
