The kick-starter shaft is the engine spare part that transmits the motion of the kick-start lever to the motorcycle's mechanical starting mechanism. It belongs to the PowerParts engine spares category and is needed when the original shaft shows wear, play or breakage after prolonged use of the kick starter.
It is made from machined steel, with a splined end that engages the starter gear and the other end designed to receive the kick-start lever. The bare metal finish, with no additional coating, reveals the precision machining required to withstand the torsional loads produced each time the lever is operated.
The photo shows an elongated, cylindrical part in steel-grey, with a clearly defined splined section at one end and a smooth surface along the rest of the body. There is no paint or visible surface treatment, only the machining typical of steel.
