This spark arrestor insert is part of the exhaust system spares range and fits inside the silencer of enduro and cross bikes ridden on forest trails or in areas with fire-use restrictions. It is designed for the rider who needs to comply with local regulations without giving up the exhaust pipe on their KTM.
It consists of a perforated metal tubular body that fits into the end section of the silencer, acting as a physical barrier for the incandescent particles generated by combustion. Its construction in formed steel sheet, shaped into a cylinder, includes a series of round holes evenly distributed across the entire surface, along with a flange at one end that makes it easier to secure in the exhaust body.
The photograph shows a metal tube with a matte grey finish, covered in dozens of small round perforations running the length of the piece in regular rows. One end features a slightly wider lip or flange than the rest of the body, which acts as a mounting stop inside the silencer.
In use, this insert traps sparks and combustion residue before they exit through the exhaust outlet, making it essential for riding in natural areas where fire risk requires this type of device on the exhaust pipe.
