The KTM magnetic drain bolt, reference 0025060166S, is the plug that closes the drain hole of the engine oil sump, a part commonly needed for any oil change within the PowerParts range of spares.
It is a metal bolt with a hexagonal head for tightening with a wrench, a threaded body and a magnet built into the end that stays in contact with the oil in the sump. That magnet retains the metal particles released through internal engine wear, keeping the lubricant cleaner between services.
The photo shows a bolt with a silver metallic finish, a clearly defined hexagonal head and a cylindrical threaded body right to the tip, where the darker tone characteristic of the embedded magnet can be seen.
By replacing the original plug with this magnetic drain bolt, each oil change makes it easy to remove the accumulated ferrous debris, reducing its circulation through the lubrication circuit.
