The KTM cylinder base gasket is the sealing element that sits between the crankcase and the base of the cylinder, needed whenever the cylinder is removed, whether for maintenance or for replacing internal engine components. It is part of PowerParts' engine spares range.
This is a flat gasket, cut to the exact shape of the cylinder base, with the corresponding holes for the oil passages and fixing bolts, designed to ensure a proper seal between both aluminium surfaces and prevent pressure or lubricant loss at that joint.
The photo shows a thin-profile, light-coloured gasket, with its outline cut to follow the shape of the cylinder and several perforations spread across its surface, matching the ducts and anchor points.
Fitting a new one with each service ensures the seal between the crankcase and cylinder, preventing oil or compression loss at that joint.
