This noise reduction insert is a replacement part for the exhaust system, designed for anyone needing to restore the original sound level of their KTM's silencer once the internal packing material has worn out through use.
It is a component housed inside the silencer, in direct contact with the exhaust gas flow, so its condition directly affects the sound and acoustic behaviour of the exhaust pipe.
The photo shows a perforated cylindrical body, with a light-toned fibre packing visible through the holes and a metallic finish on the outside of the part.
Replacing this insert when worn allows the silencer's original sound attenuation level to be restored, preventing the exhaust from sounding more aggressive than intended due to the deterioration of the internal material.
