KTM Motor Slip Regulation (MSR) is a software function of the motorcycle's electronics that works in the opposite direction to traction control (MTC), designed for riders who want to keep the rear wheel stable during downshifts or when closing the throttle abruptly. It is activated with an authorization code and managed through the vehicle's electronic system.
When engine braking torque rises excessively due to a sudden downshift or an abrupt throttle close, the ride-by-wire system opens the throttle valve just enough to prevent the rear wheel from spinning up. Thanks to the MSC system, this regulation also works while leaned over in a corner, not just in a straight line.
The photo shows the bike's TFT instrument panel, with the electronic settings menu on screen, where this function is activated and configured alongside the other riding aid systems.
In use it provides greater control over the rear wheel in situations where engine braking tends to lock or spin it up, both on straights and while leaned over, without the rider having to intervene on the brake or clutch.
