KTM Motor Slip Regulation, known as MSR, is a software upgrade that works as a complement to the MTC traction control, now managing the opposite side of the equation: excessive engine braking.
The MSR system works in reverse to MTC: when engine drag torque becomes too high, due to an abrupt downshift or suddenly rolling off the throttle, the ride-by-wire management opens the throttle valve just enough to prevent the rear wheel from slipping or locking up. Thanks to its combination with the MSC system, this regulation also works with the bike leaned over in a corner, not only in a straight line.
The photo shows the TFT display with the braking and traction electronics settings section, in KTM's usual black and orange finish.
This function adds extra safety during aggressive downshifts or sudden throttle releases, situations where the rear wheel could lose traction both in a straight line and mid-corner.
