The KTM Adaptive Brake Light is a software function of the electronic braking system, designed to increase the motorcycle's visibility to riders following behind during hard braking. It is activated with an authorization code through the code generator of the XC2 tool and is integrated into the vehicle's electronics without adding any components.
Based on the speed and deceleration values recorded at each moment, the motorcycle's high-end electronic system detects when an emergency stop is taking place. At that instant, the brake light stops staying on steadily and starts flashing until the brake is released, since a flashing light is perceived more quickly than a steady one.
The photo shows the bike's TFT instrument panel, with the electronic functions menu on screen, the section from which this activation is managed.
In use, this pulsing light signal helps vehicles following behind react sooner to sudden braking, reducing the risk of a rear-end collision.
