This motor slip regulation (MSR) is an electronic activation for KTM that manages rear wheel behavior when the engine generates excessive drag torque, for example when downshifting abruptly or releasing the throttle suddenly. It is a software complement to the bike's ride-by-wire system, designed for those looking for finer control during hard braking and aggressive downshifts, both on the road and on track.
It works in the opposite way to the MTC traction control: while that system limits excess power at the wheel, the MSR opens the throttle valve just enough to prevent the rear wheel from locking up or slipping due to engine braking. Thanks to its integration with the MSC system, its action is not limited to straight-line riding, but also intervenes while leaning, in corners. Activation is managed through an authorization code requested via the XC2 diagnostic tool, with no need to fit any additional physical component to the motorcycle. It holds HOMNN_EU homologation.
The photograph shows the physical format in which the reference is supplied: a card or document with the KTM logo and reference details printed on it, since the product itself is a digital activation license rather than a mechanical part.
In daily use, this regulation provides greater stability at the rear end during abrupt deceleration, reducing the risk of the wheel slipping or lifting due to excess engine braking, and maintaining that protection while cornering too, thanks to its integration with the MSC.
