The Adaptive Brake Light is an electronic function from the PowerParts range that reinforces the visual warning given to vehicles following behind during hard braking. It is enabled via the authorisation code generated through the XC2 tool and relies on the motorcycle's electronic system, which analyses speed and deceleration values to determine whether a high-risk braking situation is taking place.
When the system detects such a situation, the brake light does not simply stay lit, but flashes in pulses until the brake is released. This flashing is noticed sooner than a steady light, giving following traffic more time to react and reducing the chance of being caught off guard.
The photo shows the KTM PowerParts graphic material for this activation, with the brand logo and item reference, with no physical parts visible since it is a software upgrade for the electronics already fitted to the bike.
In use, this function operates automatically during any braking event the system classifies as high-risk, with no need for the rider to activate it or intervene, providing an extra warning signal to traffic behind in situations of hard braking.
