This KTM software upgrade activates the engine-braking regulation, known as MSR, a system that works alongside and in opposition to the bike's MTC traction control. It is a digital activation on the control unit, with no parts fitted.
When engine drag torque rises excessively, whether from a sudden downshift or an abrupt throttle close, the ride-by-wire system opens the throttle valve just enough to prevent the rear wheel from slipping. Thanks to the MSC lean-angle system, this regulation also works with the bike leaned over in a corner, not only in a straight line.
