This side fairing bracket is part of KTM's PowerParts catalogue of chassis and bodywork spares, designed for those who need to replace the original mounting point of their side fairing with a new part offering the exact factory fit.
It is a small component, made from a rigid plastic material resistant to vibration and to the temperatures reached near the engine and fuel tank. Its geometry is calculated to fit into the recess provided in the side fairing and the subframe, so that the fixing stays firm without having to force the bodywork plastic or add extra hardware.
The photograph shows a black part with a stepped profile body and a flat base that follows the inner contour of the fairing, along with a central lug that acts as a support and retention point.
Once fitted in place, it allows the side fairing to sit properly without play, preventing the panel from vibrating or coming loose with use, and also makes for a tidy removal process when access to the inside of the fairing is needed for maintenance tasks.
