The KTM M8X55 ISA40 magnetic drain bolt is a spare part from the PowerParts range intended for the engine oil sump, designed to replace the original drain plug once the thread or gasket seat has lost its seal after repeated servicing.
It features an M8 thread with a 55 mm length, longer than other equivalent variants, a head with an ISA40 internal hexagon for use with an Allen key, and a built-in magnet at the end that stays in direct contact with the sump oil, capturing the metal particles generated by internal engine wear.
The image shows a steel bolt with a silver finish, a cylindrical threaded body of generous length and a head with the hexagonal recess typical of this type of fastener. At the opposite end, the magnet stands out for its darker tone and slightly rounded shape.
When draining the oil, this bolt simultaneously removes the metal filings accumulated in the sump, helping keep the lubricant cleaner between oil changes and reducing premature wear of internal engine components.
