This 2 mm intermediate clutch plate is a metal component from the KTM PowerParts range fitted alternating with the lined friction plates within the oil-bath multi-plate clutch pack.
It is made of steel, with a thickness of 2 mm and a flat, smooth surface on both faces, without its own friction material, as its function is to slide against the adjacent lined plates. It includes engagement teeth machined around its perimeter to lock onto the corresponding element of the clutch assembly.
The photograph shows a circular steel plate with a bright metallic finish, a uniform surface free of friction grooves, and engagement teeth visible all around the edge.
Within the clutch pack, it completes the alternation with the lined plates, creating the contact surface needed for the clutch to transmit engine power with the appropriate progressiveness.
