This piston pin bearing is an internal engine component that allows the piston pin to rotate smoothly inside the connecting rod small end, distributing the load generated in each combustion cycle. It is supplied as an original KTM replacement part, reference 47030034000, for use when assembling or rebuilding the piston-connecting rod assembly.
It is a needle bearing, made up of a set of very thin rollers housed without a cage or with a reduced cage between the pin and the connecting rod small end, allowing it to work with minimal tolerances and reducing friction at a point subject to high temperatures and alternating loads. Its hardened steel construction gives it the surface hardness needed to withstand continuous rolling contact without losing dimensional precision.

Its function is to keep the pin turning freely and without play, a decisive factor for piston life and for preventing noise or premature wear in that area of the engine during maintenance or repair work.
