The KTM M8X35 ISA40 magnetic drain bolt is a spare part within the PowerParts range designed for engine oil sump maintenance, replacing the original drain plug when its thread or gasket seat shows wear.
It features an M8 thread with a 35 mm length, an ISA40 internal hexagon drive head, and a built-in magnet at the end that sits submerged in the sump oil. This magnet captures the fine metal particles released by internal engine component friction, preventing them from recirculating with the lubricant.
The photo shows a steel bolt with a silver finish, a cylindrical threaded body and a head with the characteristic hexagonal recess for an Allen key. At the opposite end, the magnet is visible, darker in tone and slightly recessed relative to the metal body.
Fitted to the sump, it allows the oil to be drained at every service while simultaneously removing the accumulated metal filings, helping keep the oil cleaner between maintenance intervals and reducing premature wear of internal engine parts.
