The elastomer is made from a high-hardness rubber compound, identified by its red colour, which fits into the handlebar damping mount in place of the original elastomer or one of a different hardness. Its cylindrical shape is designed to sit directly between the upper and lower shells of the mount.
The photograph shows solid rubber pieces in a deep red colour, cylindrical in shape with a smooth surface and a dense feel typical of a hard compound. The finish is uniform, with no markings or visible marks on the surface.
Being the hardest elastomer within this system, fitting it stiffens the response of the handlebar damping assembly, transmitting less movement and offering a more direct, firm feel to the rider compared with the medium or soft hardness options.
