This KTM cylinder head is the upper component of the cylinder, the part that closes off the combustion chamber and houses the engine's intake and exhaust ports. It belongs to the engine spare parts catalogue for those who need to replace the original head due to wear, damage, or as part of a thorough engine overhaul.
It is made from cast aluminium alloy, with the mating surfaces precision-machined to ensure correct seating on the cylinder and proper sealing across the head gasket assembly. The body features the cooling fins typical of this type of part, which help dissipate the heat generated by combustion, along with threaded holes for mounting engine bolts and accessories.
The photo shows the typical cast aluminium finish, with a matte grey tone and the textured surface characteristic of the casting process, combined with smooth machined areas around the ports and valve seats. The through-holes and the recesses corresponding to the combustion chamber can be seen.
As an original spare part, it allows the engine to be brought back to factory running condition, replacing a damaged or worn cylinder head with a part that shares the same dimensions and finishes as the one fitted on the bike from the factory.
