This side stand removal kit, from the PowerParts range for KTM, is aimed at those looking to lighten the bike by replacing the complete side stand bracket with a lighter assembly, designed for sport or competition use.
The kit contains all the parts needed to remove the side stand and replace the complete standard bracket, mimicking a folded-up side stand once installed. It is made from aluminium with a natural finish, with no additional surface treatment, reducing weight compared to the original assembly by 1 kg. Installation is plug & play, fitting onto the existing mounting points with no modifications to the chassis.
The photo shows an aluminium part in its natural tone, with the matte finish typical of untreated metal, compact in shape and with a low profile that takes the place of the original bracket.
Being an aluminium part rather than the complete standard bracket, the assembly cuts 1 kg of weight in the side stand area, keeping the look of a tucked-up stand even though the bike no longer has a functional support.
