The KTM magnetic drain bolt, reference 0015060653, replaces the standard oil sump drain plug and is useful for anyone who services their own motorcycle, within the PowerParts range of spares.
It is a metal bolt with a hexagonal head and threaded body that incorporates a magnet on its inner end, designed to capture the filings and ferrous particles generated by friction between internal engine components, which would otherwise remain suspended in the oil.
The image shows a bolt with a metallic finish, a clearly defined hexagonal edge on the head and continuous thread along the body to the tip, where the colour darkens due to the integrated magnet.
Fitted at the drain point, it helps keep the engine oil cleaner between changes by magnetically retaining the metal debris circulating through the sump.
