This guide bushing acts as a support and sliding element for the piston rod inside the engine, a replacement part from the KTM PowerParts range designed for the maintenance of the piston assembly and its associated components.
It is a small, cylindrical bushing with a central bore through which the rod runs, its function being to keep the rod centered and guided along its travel, reducing direct contact between the rod and the crankcase or cylinder housing.

As a wear part, replacement becomes necessary when the clearance between the rod and the bushing increases with use, since this clearance determines whether the piston rod moves in a guided manner without excessive play.
