The O-ring is a sealing element commonly used in the maintenance and repair of various motorcycle systems, from the engine to the fluid circuits. It is a spare part intended for anyone removing components that require an airtight seal and who needs to renew the ring after the work is done.
It has the characteristic circular cross-section of this type of seal, made from an elastomeric material capable of deforming slightly when compressed between two surfaces, sealing against the passage of air, oil or other fluids depending on where it is installed.

Its function on assembly is to prevent leaks and maintain a tight seal at the joint where it is fitted, so it should be replaced every time the component it accompanies is removed, as a used O-ring loses its sealing capacity.
