The earth wire is the conductor that connects the battery's negative terminal to the chassis or engine, closing the bike's electrical circuit, designed to replace the original cable when it shows corroded terminals or damaged insulation.
It consists of a thick-gauge braided copper conductor, covered by a black insulating sheath resistant to engine heat, and finished at both ends with metal eyelet terminals for screw fixing to the chassis and to the battery's negative terminal.

A good earth connection is crucial for the correct operation of the electrical system, avoiding parasitic resistance that could affect starting, ignition or battery charging.
