The KTM 300 control flap is an internal component of the variable exhaust valve system, within the engine parts category for two-stroke models. It is the moving piece that rotates inside the cylinder to adjust the exhaust gas flow according to engine speed, a component subjected to high temperatures and loads during engine operation.
It is machined from a metal alloy with a curved profile matching the inner contour of the cylinder, with a through shaft that allows it to rotate in sync with the rest of the exhaust valve mechanism. Its specific geometry determines the timing and degree of opening of the exhaust port.
