It is a flat sheet precisely cut to follow the exact contour of the cylinder base, with the corresponding openings for the internal passages and the holes for the fixing bolts. Its calibrated 0.40 mm thickness allows precise adjustment of the mounting height during engine rebuild or tuning work.
