This spark arrestor insert is part of the KTM PowerParts range and is designed to be fitted inside FMF silencers, a common solution for riders who use forest trails, enclosed riding areas or zones where regulations require preventing hot particles from escaping through the exhaust.
It is a metal component with a perforated structure that sits in the end section of the silencer body. Its function is to trap the sparks generated by combustion before they reach the outside, without significantly restricting exhaust gas flow, so the unit keeps its usual behaviour.
The photo shows a small cylindrical part with a dark metallic finish and a surface covered in evenly spaced holes, characteristic of this type of spark-arresting mesh.
Fitted inside the corresponding FMF silencer, it allows the bike to keep being used in environments where fire risk calls for this kind of protection, without having to change the exhaust system or give up its usual setup.
