This rim protection band for 18 inch rims, 32 mm wide and 2 mm thick, is part of the PowerParts spares and fits inside the rim to protect the inner tube or tire from the protruding spoke nipples.
It is a flexible rubber band that runs around the entire inner perimeter of the rim, with a 32 mm width designed to cover the area where the nipples sit and a 2 mm thickness that barely adds bulk to the wheel assembly.
The image shows a black rubber strip with a smooth surface and constant cross-section, coiled into a ring shape following the circumference of the rim it is intended for.
Its function is to prevent the inner tube or tire from coming into direct contact with the nipples and the base of the rim, reducing the risk of punctures from friction during regular wheel use.
