It is a small component subject to constant stress, as it is the anchor point that absorbs part of the impact in the event of a side fall or the guard striking an obstacle. Its role as the external element of the clamping assembly means it works together with an internal counterpart, so that both parts clamp the hand guard firmly and securely against the handlebar or lever.
The photo shows a curved-profile piece, shaped to fit the cylindrical form of the handlebar, with a dark-toned finish and smooth surface, and the screw pass-through points that allow it to be fixed together with the internal clamp.
As a replacement part, it restores the original mounting of the hand guard when the stock clamp has broken or become deformed, keeping the guard firmly in position while riding.
