The cylinder head is part of the engine's thermal assembly and is one of the key components for anyone needing to replace this part during an engine repair or rebuild. It is a precision-machined aluminium casting that houses the intake and exhaust ports, valve seats, and the mounting points for the cylinder and the camshaft cover.
The aluminium used in its construction allows good dissipation of the heat generated during combustion, while keeping weight contained compared to other materials. The machining of its mating surfaces and internal ports meets the tight tolerances required for correct engine operation, ensuring proper sealing with the head gasket and leak-free gas flow.
The photo shows a raw aluminium part with the characteristic matte grey tone of the casting, displaying the various machined chambers and passages on its lower face, as well as the threaded holes for the mounting bolts.
Fitted to the engine, this KTM cylinder head ensures combustion chamber sealing and correct intake and exhaust gas flow, making it a direct replacement part for restoring the engine assembly to its original condition.
