This part is the starter motor cover, a replacement component within the PowerParts range designed for anyone needing to replace the original cover when damaged or worn from continuous use of the electric starting system.
It is a machined metal part that closes off one end of the starter motor, housing the support bushings for the armature shaft and serving as a fixing point by means of through bolts. Its geometry is calculated to fit precisely with the motor housing, helping to keep the assembly sealed against dust and moisture.
The photograph shows a circular cover with a dark-toned, machined finish, several through-holes for the retaining screws distributed around its perimeter, and a central recess where the end of the shaft sits.
