This Hinson outer clutch cover is part of the KTM PowerParts catalogue and replaces the original engine cover on small-displacement engines, for those who want to give their clutch competition-level protection. It is the right part when reinforcing this area of the engine against rock strikes and crashes typical of enduro and motocross.
It is manufactured by machining high-quality aluminium from solid billet, which allows the wall thickness to be controlled and keeps the weight optimised without giving up strength against the toughest demands of use. The surface receives an anodized finish that protects the material against wear and corrosion. This construction is the same used by Factory Racing teams on their competition bikes.
The photo shows the matte black anodized finish, with reinforcing ribs machined around the contour and the central recess that houses the clutch mechanism. The cuts and edges show the precision typical of CNC machining.
Fitted to the engine, it provides extra protection to the clutch assembly against side impacts, keeping the part's weight low thanks to its optimised design while retaining the competition finish of the Hinson range.
